"He said to them, 'Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.'" Mark 16:15
Not many know about this small, Central American country called El Salvador. We didn’t either, until by a God-planned turn of events happened. Timberlake founder, Jeremy Burns, was going on a mission trip to Guatemala, until something came up and the trip’s destination was changed to El Salvador. He fell in love with the people there, and Jeremy and Erin Burns have been leading mission trips to El Salvador ever since.
Since 2015, God has allowed us to travel to El Salvador and work alongside the Iglesia Internacional Bautista La Obra De Dios, or also known as the Buffalo Church, and be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ. We have been able to go out into the community and build houses and also help with the construction of the school started and run by the Buffalo Church.
If you don't know much about El Salvador, it is a beautiful country whose people have a unique culture and amazing food. But the problem is that there is a heavy gang presence in that country. This is why the Buffalo Church started a school. Many of the children who grew up in poor communities who do not have a good education usually follow in their parents footsteps of poverty and gang involvement. The church set out to stop this cycle, by starting a private Christian school that was not only more affordable, but also made a way for sponsors to pay the way for children so they could get a good Christian education.
