What's NEW in 2019!
We have some exciting changes on the horizon for the summer of 2019 and we couldn't be more excited about all of our camps, both NEW and traditional. We will offer 9 different camps including our newest additions: Created for a Purpose camp (for girls), Color War Camp, Middle School Camp, and Wacky Sports Camp. Our new camps will join our existing traditional Timbers and Adventure Camps, and the return of Sportsman's Camp. You can find descriptions of all our camps on our "Summer Camps" page.
Whether registering as an individual or as a group, both parents and group leaders can get answers to all their questions and info on 2019 changes under the "A note for Parents" and "A note for Group Leaders" documents below. Once groups have registered, we'll provide them with detailed and very specific info about what to expect during their summer camp experience.
You might have noticed a change in our price point for all of our camps. While our goal has always been to offer quality camps at an affordable price, it has become necessary for us to increase our pricing slightly in the current economy. With increasing food, utility, and supply costs, and to ensure proper safety training and better-qualified staff, we prayerfully approached the pricing for 2019. Campers can secure their spot by paying the same $50 deposit - something that has remained the same since camps began. Whether you wait until the last minute or make payments over the coming months, the balance for individuals is due upon arrival at camp, while groups have until May 31st to make their final payments.
CAMP REGISTRATION DEADLINE FOR ALL CAMPS IS MAY 1, 2019!!
This Year's Theme
With a stronger focus on Spiritual Development in 2019, This year's theme for all of our summer camps is: "I AM"- Exploring who God was, is, and will always be.
We believe that Spiritual growth should be the most important focus of our camps, and we'll have multiple opportunities throughout the day to deepen our faith and challenge campers each day through morning devotionals, cabin prayer times, and small group discussion times, in addition to relevant messages from our dynamic musicians and speaker during evening worship.

Our Speaker - Dusty Jones
Growing up, Dusty was taught to be good as a young child, but as he grew older, he learned that it was more about being godly than being "good". Dusty accepted Christ while in high school and surrendered to the call of ministry during his senior year. Throughout his college years, he experienced ups and downs in his faith but had one huge wake-up call. God got his attention and opened the doors for him to work at his home church.
While at his home church, he worked with preschool and children before he became the Children's Director. After a few years, his role changed to Middle School Associate and then Minister of Students at a nearby church. After serving for over 15 years in the local church, Dusty has found himself part of the team at Timberlake.
What will your children and youth see from him this summer??? Hopefully, a believer who is still growing in his faith, nowhere close to perfect, but daily relying on God's grace. He is a speaker who stays true to the Word, uses illustrations when needed, and takes seriously the responsibility set before him.
We know your students will be challenged in their faith, and their relationship with Christ deepended this summer as Dusty brings the word to all of our summer camps in 2019.
Our Bands and Worship Leaders
Here and Now
" Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our Salvation." Psalm 95:1
"Here and Now" is a dynamic, live, worship band based out of FBC Tuscaloosa. A band consisting of college student worship leaders, Here and Now strives to lead others in the act of worshiping Jesus through music. Birmingham and Tuscaloosa natives, Katelyn Hardy, Dominic Johnson, and Garrett Sellers are members of First Baptist Church, Tuscaloosa where they participate in leading worship for different ministries throughout the week.
Over the past two years the group has gone outside of their church walls to various camps and retreats where they enjoy leading other churches and groups in praise through song. We are thrilled to have "Here and Now" joining us for the summer of 2019.
Jud and Lisa Cameron
Jud and Lisa Cameron have been singing together since they began dating more than 20 years ago. Married in May of 2000, they began working in music ministry right away, leading worship at youth events, church services, and various venues. Currently, Jud leads worship at Anchor Church in Tuscaloosa, as well as other venues outside his home church. Jud and Lisa strive to incorporate music that is scripturally rooted and contextually sound upon every opportunity to work within the call God has placed on their lives. More than playing at events, they believe that discipleship among musicians is an important element of growing a gospel-centered community.
Caleb Smith has been serving as the Contemporary Worship Pastor on staff at Coaling Baptist for the past few years. He previously served on worship teams at Church of the Highlands and Harvest Church. He has been playing a variety of instruments since the time he could walk and have been part of multiple church worship teams since the age of 7. Caleb answered the call of leading worship at age 14.
Caleb studied at The University of Mobile, persuing a degree in Worship Leadership prior to moving back to Tuscaloosa to serve as part of the aforementioned worship teams.
Caleb has been married to his lovely wife for 2 years and currently has a baby on the way. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife, hunting, and fishing, playing music and working in production shows, and serving in his church.
Jake Higdon knew he was called to ministry and responded to God by following his leading into worship ministry. With a passion for worship and an equal passion for ministering to people, Jake currently serves as the worship leader for Valley Church in Coker, Alabama.
A senior at The University of Alabama majoring in Physical Education, Jake will graduate in May of 2019 and is excited to spend his summer leading worship at Timberlake.
Bradley Watson has a testimony familiar to many who struggled with being from a family that faced extreme challenges, and didn't know Jesus. Throughout his childhood, being exposed to those around him who made poor choices, Bradley found himself headed down the same roads and knew he needed a change.
After getting involved with a local youth group, Bradley eventually made the decision to turn his life over to Jesus. Later in his spiritual journey, he felt the call of God on his life and knew that God was leading him to a life of ministry. When he surrendered to that call, God began teaching him and using him to impact the Kingdom, through music as he began to travel and lead worship.
Bradley and his wife live in Tuscaloosa, where he is in his 4th year on staff as Worship Pastor at Harvest Church. He has recorded an EP "Surrender" and continues to lead worship in the local church as well as travelling to lead worship at camps and retreats. His musical style is a healthy mix between Phil Wickham, Chris Tomlin, Hillsong, and Shane and Shane.
